Every year, more than 30 Nobel Laureates convene in the town of Lindau in Germany to meet 500-600 young scientists (under and post-graduate students, as well as PhD candidates in order to exchange knowledge, ideas and experience. This year's 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting is dedicated to Physics. Already 41 Nobel Laureates have confirmed their membership as well as 580 young scientists from 88 countries. The Physics Department congratulates its graduate student A. Tsouros and its PhD candidate A. Pavli for their considerable success to be selected and admitted to participate in this year's conference in Lindau. We also note the selection of Mr. T. Ilias and I. Matheakakis, graduates of the Department who continue their studies as a doctoral candidates at the Universities of Ulm and Wurzburg (in Germany), respectively. A total of four of the eight Greek students admitted to the 69th Nobel Laureate meeting either attend or have graduated from the Department of Physics. Given the particularly high level of young scientists world-wide applying at these conferences, this year's attendance rate is extremely important and a source of a great pleasure to us.
